All Ways Acid

All Ways Acid are a fluid collective of people who love to dance. Our parties recapture the old acid house vibe, using both underground and commercial records from the early days, onwards. All Ways Acid evolved as a response to the bland dance music/party scene around Newquay. The fun needed putting back into the party, and we looked to the old skool for inspiration. A collective of party people came together one Saturday night, in May 05, on a north Cornish beach, armed with an inflatable tent, a rig, and some old skool records. Everyone wore their dancing shoes that night, much fun was had by all, and the requests for the next one came flooding in.

Several more parties followed, and the following kept growing. To avoid the long arm of the law spoiling the fun, we made our first apprehensive venture into the Newquay clubland that we had rebelled against! Calling on old friends who still fly the original old skool flag, this one went off with a capacity crowd, a good vibe and a rather bizarre celebrity appearance....

Superb live music and old skool soundsystem fun at the Koola

Sat June 14th sees the return of the infamous All Ways Acid party collective. Following the success of our end of season party last year, we are back in collaboration with the Koola/Chy bar, and joined by the oldskoolanthemz.com crew (the biggest and most active old skool site on the net with 10000 members), to put on a proper old skool summer season opening party, that the rain cant spoil!

These parties were originally an invite only, out door affair, where veteran dj’s of the acid house scene leave their usual set at home and look towards the back of their record collections.

Much loved by a friendly and varied crowd, traveling from all over the UK, our move into the Koola/Chy has allowed us to extend to two rooms, and offer a superb live music element, as well as a broader range of old skool, including acid house, club classics, house, trance, breaks and acid tek funk, so now there really is something for everyone to dance to.

In the Chy, expect superb live funkin’ retro grooves from the Cornish 9 piece band 4 Tons of Funk! Followed by an old skool house/club classics mashup by local hero Mastervibe, responsible in the nineties for the “Progression” events at Cornwall’s rave venue, The Shire Horse, and, um, community radio station, Panic fm. Also, Butty (founder of oldskoolanthemz.com, and co-promoter of Manchester old skool events “Timeless” and “Evolution”) and Cano (a veteran of the legendary Manchester house night Life@Bowlers) representing oldskoolanthemz.com for the first time in the South West, all playing on our usual out door rig for a bigger sound!.

In the Koola we go a little deeper underground. Chris Liberator, one of the three Liberator dj’s from the stay up forever collective, is back again. His world renowned sets are an inspiration for the underground acid techno scene. GMC from uglyfunk, has a huge record collection and an ability to blend different styles for an inimitable set, dj Rhythm (oldskoolanthemz.com) a 17 year acid house specialist, veteran dj and producer with a broad experience of the Northern underground scene, Simon (Artbox/All Ways Acid) has been involved in the Cornish party scene since the early days, and has played for us since the beginning, and the Rev Damien Thorn, All Ways Acid resident, with an eclectic taste from way back when, all digging up some more classic moments in old skool and retro underground sounds.

Due to the massive response to our last event it is advisable to get tickets early, or risk being locked out and missing the fun!
